February
Dear Parents,

We have many things planned for February. Ground Hog Day will be celebrated by making ground hogs and learning a song about the Ground Hog. We also have projects planned for Valentine's Day.

Our Valentines' Day Party will be celebrated on Monday, February 13th. There is a sign-up sheet in the hall. Thank-you for all of your help and support. The children really enjoy the celebrations. Please be sure to check the safe list for treats. We are always nut free.

The children will exchange Valentines. This is a good time for your child to practice writing his/her name. There are 13 children in the class. Please do not put a name on the outside of the envelope. This way the children can give each other their cards. As a school we have decided not to include candy with the valentines. This helps keep the children with allergies safe to handle the cards. We will still have treats for our party. Please don't forget that we are a peanut free school, so please check the ingredients of any snacks or food you send into school. The sweet treat will be provided by the school.

Wednesday, February 29th will be red or pink day. We will dress in something red or pink and do a red/pink craft. Please send in red/pink pictures.

We are currently up to the letter "O" in the alphabet. We are sharing ideas at circle, working on shapes, colors, recognizing numbers 1-10, writing names, playing memory games, cutting and many more topics. Conferences will include a checklist to show where your child has his/her strengths and weaknesses.

Please try to attend the Art Fair on Friday, February 3rd. The children are very proud of their projects. It begins at 6 pm. The teachers bake to benefit our financial aid program. Hope to see you then. As always, please share any concerns or comments with me at school or feel free to call me at home. Thanks you for sharing your child with us!

Fondly,
Mrs. Fletcher and Ms. O'Brien

P.S. Please remember we are closed on Friday, February 17th and Monday, February 20th.
