We had a busy January. We learned about the color of the month…White and our shape which was a rectangle. The children also enjoyed our White day. We had a yummy snack of powered WHITE donuts and mini marshmallows that week as well. We also talked about winter weather, gingerbread men and arctic animals (which we will carry over into this month as well) Penguins and Polar Bears. I want to apologize again for not sending many things home. We have done so much in the last couple of weeks for the Art Fair. They have done a great job on ALL their art fair projects. I can't wait for you all to see their hard work and to take them ALL home. Come see all the great artwork! ART FAIR Feb 3th, at 6:00pm - 7:30pm in the gym. There will be a bake sale too. Yummy treats from all the teachers.

This is the time for colds and the flu so we try and wash our hands more often so we all don't get sick. We understand there is going to be a lot of runny noses and coughs so we are reminding them to cover when they cough (in there sleeve) and get a tissue for their nose. With help of course! :

Our shape for this month is a heart and the color is Pink. Pink or Red day is on (Feb 28th). Boys don't really wear pink (unless you want to) so we wanted to introduce both colors.

Thank you, for the great books that you have shared and the surprise bag items. They can't wait to find out who has what job. They have been finding their inside cubbies, by name and placing any work that has to go home. They all have NO trouble coming up and doing their jobs. They are very proud of themselves when doing them.

We will be having a Valentine's party on Valentine's day Feb 14th, sign up is outside the door under the information board. If you like, you can bring in valentines for your classmates but please JUST SIGN YOUR CHILD'S NAME on the card and we will have them place their cards in each of their friends special Valentine's bag. School wide, please NO candy attached to the cards/envelopes. Just the cards! We have 12 children in our class. We will be making our own bags.

We will be talking about, Ground Hog's Day, Valentine's Day, Dental Health and animals in the winter as well as our color and shape of the month.

Remember: Please read the board outside our room for your child's day at school and any dates or sign ups to remember will be posted. Coats, gloves and hats are to be needed in case we do go outside. Hoods are ok if they don't mind wearing them. Any questions just let Jane or I know. Our door is always open.
